June 30, 2016 Updated: June 30, 2016

HONG KONG—Hong Kong Football Club bowlers Derek Wyllie, Rita Shek and Wanis Sze will be busy at the Finals Day this Sunday as they are after two titles on that day.

The event at the Filipino Club on July 3 is the first of the two Finals Day organized by the Hong Kong Lawn Bowls Association this year, which group together the finals of all major lawn bowls competitions in one venue to attract more spectators.

Sunday will be a big day for Wyllie as this is the first time he has reached the finals of any major National competitions.  His best moment so far was as runner-up at the Champion of Champions singles in 2014.

In the morning Wyllie will partner with clubmate Kenny Tam, Terry Kung and CT Wong to quest for the National Fours title against the Youth Team skipped by Jason Choi.

He will then pair up with Craigengower Cricket Club bowler Robin Chok to represent Hong Kong Jockey Club at the final of the National Pairs.  Their opponent will be Imen Tang and Stanley Lai who are also from CCC.

For Shek and Sze, who partnered to lift the National Pairs title last year, will focus on the National Fours with new partners Phyllis Wong and Shirley Ma.

In the National Triples they will partner Josephine Lam to play against a Kowloon Cricket Club team skipped by the reigning Bowler of the Year Tammy Tham, who will be supported by Rita Tsui and Mercredi Yeung.

Shek and Sze were knocked out in the second round of the National Pairs by Eva Kwok and Katrina Wong of Tuen Mun Sports Association.  The final of the women’s National Pairs will be played between Cheryl Chan and Eva Hui of Shatin Sports Association and Stella Lo and Lee Wong of Kowloon Bowling Green Club.
