WASHINGTON―TD Bank, known as “America’s Most Convenient Bank,” celebrated the grand opening of its new branch with a street fair celebration at Wisconsin Ave. and Q Street, NW in Georgetown, Washington, D.C on Nov. 7.
The street fair in the bank’s parking lot was complete with carnival games and prizes for children and adults alike. TD Bank staff welcomed the first to enter the bank with thunderous applause. People driving by could not help but notice bubbles drifting into the street from a man on stilts with a bubble gun in a vibrant green outfit.
Passersby also may have noticed a balloon artist, large pillars of green and white balloons, and the TD Bank staff with signs that read “America’s Most Convenient Bank.” Some of those that stopped by were TD Bank customers; others were walking by and decided to stop to share in the festivities provided for their children and to learn more about TD Bank’s services.
“They have a wonderful structure here on this corner. It makes it beautiful and inviting. It’s a beautiful bank, and I hope that they will be wonderfully successful here,” said Joy Blair, a retired Georgetown resident of over 15 years.
We’re very pleased to have them [TD Bank],” said James Bracco, executive director of the Georgetown Business Improvement District. “They have an interesting service culture, open 7 days a week. It’s great for those that want to take advantage of it.”
In addition to being open seven days a week, TD Bank offers a number of services of convenience to customers, such as extended business hours: open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., free Penny Arcade coin-counting machines and free online banking and bill pay.
“I’m happy that the bank has opened here. I like this atmosphere. I like the staff and the people that work here. I’m very inclined to open an account,” said 18 year old John Flores, who attended the opening with his father Adelio Espinosa after receiving a notice in the mail. “Since I’m learning how to be an investor, I do want to have a bank where I can trust my money,” added Flores.
TD Bank currently has 33 locations in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore region, and over 1000 locations from Maine to Florida. TD Bank is one of the 15 largest commercial banks in the United States with $134 billion in assets, and it provides customers with a full range of financial products and services.
TD Bank is celebrating the opening of another branch with a street fair at Wisconsin Ave. and Ellicott Street, NW at Tenleytown, NW in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 14 from 10 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
