A Pakistani television station reported Sunday that Hakimullah Mehsud, the leader of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Taliban Movement of Pakistan since August of last year, had died from injuries sustained in an attack by an unmanned U.S. drone plane.

Pakistani officials say the report is unconfirmed at this time. This is not the first time Hakimullah has been reported dead. On Sunday, a spokesperson for the group told Reuters that the report “is a total lie.”

Definitive confirmation is not expected for some days. Hakimullah was seen in the farewell video of the Jordanian suicide bomber responsible for the deadly Dec. 30 attack on a CIA base in Afghanistan that killed eight people, according to the New York Times.
