A dashboard cam in a car in Taiwan captures a boulder nearly crushing another car.

The incident happened in Keelung City.

People commenting on Live Leak, one of the places where the video was uploaded and on which it has gotten over 116,000 views, had strong reactions.

“id be running and it would take a a good distance before anyone could convince me to stop,” said one user.

“Wow, if the mud hadn’t pushed the car before rock landed = splat, if the rock had just a little more momentum = splat... ONE LUCKY GUY/GAL!!!” said another.

Ed Greshko, commenting on YouTube, said he was just in the area last week and pinpointed the exact area where the landslide occurred, seen in the second Google Map above.

The Taipei Times confirmed the spot, reporting that it was on Beining Road as the road goes out of the city toward New Taipei City’s Ruifang District. The driver of the white sedan was unharmed.

The Times also reported that a mudslide destroyed one home near where the boulder crashed down. The home started to slant toward the main road after a mudslide and soon collapsed onto the road, reported the Times.

The Keelung City Fire Department said in a preliminary analysis that the mudslide that destroyed the home was caused by the dirt on the hills overlooking the road becoming too soft with rain the past several days.

The heavy rain recently has also caused flooding in Taipei, New Taipei City, and Keelung City.
