Suspect Shot, Police Cruiser Hits Mobile Home in Pursuit

A police cruiser crashed into a mobile home near Kansas City, Missouri, according to reports on Monday, Aug. 7.

The crash, involving an Independence Police Department police cruiser, took place as officers were chasing a pickup truck on Monday, KMBC-TV reported.

Officers fired shots at the suspect during the chase.

The suspect was injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The condition of the suspect is not yet known.

The cruiser got into an accident before hitting a mobile home. At least two other vehicles were involved.

No officers were injured in the accident.

The crash took place in Blue Summit, an unincorporated area between Independence and Kansas City, the Kansas City Star reported.
