Terrell Suggs, who won the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year last season but tore his Achilles tendon in the offseason, came off the physically unable to perform list Wednesday and is eligible to practice, according to a report on the NFL’s website.

Just how much Suggs can practice remains to be seen.

“To what extent, to what he’s able to do, I think we should just temper our expectations a little bit,” head coach John Harbaugh said. “He’s coming off a very serious injury, an Achilles tear, and we'll just see how he does.”

The news is welcome for the Ravens who lost franchise linebacker Ray Lewis and starting cornerback Lardarius Webb Sunday. While Webb is lost for the season, Lewis was placed on the injured reserve with the designated-to-return tag, meaning Lewis could conceivably come back this season.
