Being a substitute teacher can be rough—especially for this person who chronologically jotted down the stressful day on a pink note.

The picture of the letter, posted on Reddit by the user Rethcaw, was apparently left by a substitute teacher and went viral, with over a million views on Imgur.

In the note, the teacher started off the day at 8:30 a.m. saying that a student named Jackson didn’t want to stop yelling “peanuts,” while another student, Janelle, spilled her milk and Fruity Pebbles. The teacher said she feared for the safety of the children because Janelle looked like she was “about to explode” after the other kids couldn’t stop laughing.

The sub then went on to say a student started dancing. When another student joined, half the class to got up for the “dance party.”

By 10 a.m. the substitute teacher had endured 30 minutes of fart noises.

“It started with a real fart. I suspect Hugo,” said the teacher.

At 1 p.m. the students got extra loud.

“The decibel level in this room has reached an unhealthy level, I’ve fashioned earplugs out of broken crayons,” said the sub.

“Please let me survive this,” added the teacher.

An hour later, the sub said it was “as if this room was hit by a bomb” after saying the words “free time.”

As the end of the day drew near, the sub had concluded one thing: resigning.

“I spent the second half of my day drafting my letter of resignation. The name Jasmin appears no less than 8 times,” wrote the sub.

People on social media commented on the letter, some laughing at the situation and some relating their own experiences:

The author said what happened with kids might not have been true, but that the substitute teacher did leave the letter.

“It was ment (sic) to be humorous I’m sure … so I shared with y’all,” said the Reddit user.
