LOS ANGELES—Students and their driver escaped injury when their school bus was involved in a crash with multiple other vehicles in South Los Angeles early Friday, authorities said.

The crash left the bus almost on top of a car.

The seven students and bus driver were unharmed, Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

A man who was in one of the other vehicles was taken to a hospital, but his injury was not life-threatening.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. Friday on Normandie Avenue and left the bus partially on top of a parked car and up against a utility pole.

“It’s not as bad as it definitely could have been,” California Highway Patrol Officer Randy Rodriguez said.
