A very unusual looking spider was found in a mountainous area of Jilin Province on Sep 7, according to Jilin Net Hao Shufang from Shuangyuang District, Changchun City, came across the special spider while she was picking mushrooms. The abdomen of the green spider resembled a face from the Chinese opera.
It was about 1 cm (0.4 inch) long, or the size of a fingernail.
“I fed it some flies and mosquito. It ate one of them,” said Hao. No-one in the village could identify what species of spider it was.
