Buffalo Bills receiver Stevie Johnson drew ire after he tweeted that North Korea should bomb Foxboro, Mass., where the rival New England Patriots play.

“War is nothing to be played with. I apologize North Korea……..but if y’all do bomb 1st… Bomb Foxboro, Mass. Sincerely, #BillsMafia,” he tweeted Wednesday.

It was reported last week that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was photographed with a map that included New York City, Austin, and Washington D.C. as potential targets.

However, a number of Twitter users didn’t appreciate Johnson’s comment.

“Well that was disrespectful regardless a rivalry with the Patriots,” said one Twitter user. Another said, “It’s not funny to joke about things that kill people and ruin lives.”

And another added, “But seriously, who says something like that?!”

Johnson later tweeted: “I know some of yall took it too serious.. but i have Much Respect for The Pats along with Every other NFL Team. Gonna to be a Great #NFL2013.”
