Rumors with the title “Steve Irwin daughter dies” surfaced on Friday, but it appears they were spawned when a popular trending news aggregator made a “hiccup.”
Bindi Irwin, 14, is the daughter of the late Steve Irwin, who soared to fame with his “Crocodile Hunter” program before he was killed in 2006 by a stingray.
Bindi recently posted a video of herself in Hong Kong on Twitter earlier this week, and there are no confirmed reports of her passing away.
A recent report from Wednesday even touches on how Bindi is carrying on her father’s wildlife conservation legacy.
“I’m a great believer in conservation, kid-empowerment and all things to do with wildlife. So these programmes are something that I’m really passionate and excited about. It’s very special – and what a unique position to be in, to be able to share your passion with such a wide audience. How nice is that?” she was quoted by Yahoo News as saying.
She added: “We literally live right in the middle of the Australia zoo, and that is really wonderful in itself. But it’s also great because anyone who comes to visit us gets to experience a family of animals and keepers, and really take something with them. They end up having a greater appreciation of wildlife - and that’s what it’s all about, for me.”
The rumors of her death do not appear to have been intentional.

As the Social News Daily points out, it appears the “Steve Irwin daughter dies” term appeared on MSN Now’s trending list.
“Anyway, Bindi Irwin is alive and well. As you can see though, a ton of old news stories are popping up about her: One, she was out promoting her new film Return to Nim’s Island in March,” the website wrote.
