The Steam Summer Sale has started on June 19, 2014.
The sale will feature eight-hour flash sales.
Valve will also feature daily deals.
The ones today are: Far Cry 3, DayZ, Divinity: Original Sin, Don’t Starve, Dead Rising 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Democracy 3, and Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.
Deals slash some games significantly--Far Cry 3 is slashed 75 percent, for instance--while others are much less--DayZ is 15 percent off, for instance.
Valve is also holding something called the Steam Summer Adventure, which has people collecting, trading, and crafting 10 cards that can only be acquired during the sale.
Players earn items and rewards for crafting badges during the sale.
Players who want to join are randomly assigned to one of five teams. One of the teams is deemed the winner after each day.
30 randomly chosen players from the winning team will get three Steam games for free off their wish list.
