Steam Box: Specs, Price, Release Date, Controller for Steam Machine Models

The last Steam Box news update included many details that people were waiting for–including price, release date, and specs.

Epoch Times took a look at some of the models earlier this month.

Let’s take a look at the rest of them here:

CyberPowerPC Steam Machine


This machine is going to start at $499 (about £305, AU$550).

This machine has open customization and advance style and form. “Every CYBERPOWERPC Steam Machine is built with standard, non-proprietary parts giving users endless customizability options – with support for powerful graphics such as NVIDIA GTX Titan and Radeon R9 290X,” according to the company.

As with other Steam Machines, it will come with the Steam OS.

Speces include an Intel Core i5 CPU; AMD Radeon R9 270/Nvidia GTX 760graphics card; 8 GB Ram; and 500 GB storage.

There is no slated release date.

Falcon Northwest Tiki Steam Machine


This is one of the more expensive machines, starting at $1,799 and reaching as high as $6,000.

The CPU is customizable while there will be a Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan graphics card.

People can choose RAM of 8 to 16 GB and storage of up to 6 TB.

Gigabyte Brix Pro

This machine will have an Intel Core i7 or i5 processor featuring Intel Iris Pro graphics 5200.

“The BRIX Pro gives users the flexibility to independently choose integrated storage and system memory sizes, with two SO-DIMM DDR3L slots plus support for both mSATA SSD and standard 2.5” SSD installation,” according to the company.

There’s no release date or cost yet for this machine.


France-based Materiel’s machine will start at $1,098 and come with an Intel Core i5 4440 processor.

It will also have a MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC graphics card, with 8 GB Ram and 8GB plus 1 TB SSHD storage.

There’s no release date yet.

Origin PC Chronos

Origin PC will deliver two versions of its Steam Machine, “a standard edition and a dual-video-card SLI edition with up to a pair of Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan graphics cards and liquid cooling for the CPU,” according to CNET. 

Chronos will be highly customizable, including choosing between Windows 7 and 8, which will come with Steam OS. This configuration will enable gaming and other uses.

The release date is rumored to be sometime this summer.

The Swedish company will unveil a $1,499 Steam Machine, another of the higher-end choices.

It begins with an Intel Core i7 CPU and an NVIDIA GTX 780 GPU.

It also has 16GB RAM and 1TB of SSHD storage.

A release date hasn’t been announced as of yet.

This Italian company has a machine that comes with an Intel Core i5 processor, Nvidia GTX 760 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.

No price or release date has been announced.

And all of the consoles are expected to come with a Steam controller, pictured below.
