The possible cause of the Staten Island ferry crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The Staten Island ferry crashed into a dock Saturday afternoon upon arrival at the Staten Island ferry docks from Manhattan, injuring over 36 people.

The ferry, with 252 people on board, failed to stop, slamming into the main ferry dock. There were no fatalities but dozens of injuries.

Investigators are looking into crew members’ actions, searching for possible negligence, reported NY1. The NTSB will also investigate the mechanics and propulsion systems in its search for the exact problem that may have caused the crash. The crew members have been subjected to drug and alcohol tests.
