NEW YORK—Hundreds of Star Wars fans, both sporadic and die hard, gathered on Washington Square, New York City on Aug. 9 evening to engage in massive lightsaber battle. The swordsmen and women ranged from children with $10 plastic toys to martial artists with impressively realistic replicas.
