Star Wars Episode 7 writer Lawrence Kasden, who is working with director J.J. Abrams on the upcoming film, will also write another movie that will focus on the intergalactic bounty hunter Boba Fett.
Jon Schnepp, director of the television show “Metalocalypse,” said in an interview with AMC Movie Talk that a source told him that there are multiple spin-off projects, and one of them is about Boba Fett.
“It is. I know. I know for a fact,” he said, reported Ace Show Biz. “I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.”
The stand-alone films are slated to be released between the main new Star Wars films.
Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to be released in December 2015, followed by Star Wars Episode 8 in 2017 and Star Wars Episode 9 in 2019.
Another of the stand-alone films is rumored to focus on Hans Solo’s younger years.
Kasdan was a co-screenwriter for two of the original Star Wars films, “The Empire Strikes Back,” and “Return of the Jedi.”
