A 25-year-old woman named “Star” apparently is seeking to marry Charles Manson, who led followers in a gruesome series of slayings that shocked the country in 1960s and 1970s, according to a report this week.
“I’ll tell you straight up, Charlie and I are going to get married,” Manson’s 25-year-old girlfriend,” the woman, who only went by the name “Star,” told Rolling Stone magazine.
“When that will be, we don’t know. But I take it very seriously. Charlie is my husband,” she added. Manson apparently gave her the name “Star.”
Manson, 79, will spend the rest of his days inside of California’s Corcoran State Prison.
“Yeah, well, people can think I’m crazy,” she told the publication. “But they don’t know. This is what’s right for me. This is what I was born for.”
In 2007, when she was 19, Star moved to Corcoran to be close to Manson and she visits him every Saturday.
She also recently cut an X into her forehead in an attempt to mimic the swastika that Manson cut into his years ago.
According to the The Rolling Stone, when she was in high school, Star “was smoking marijuana, eating mushrooms, not wanted to go to church every Sunday.” So, she said, her deeply religious family locked her in her room.
When she got enough money, she moved to California after developing a correspondence with Manson.
