The San Diego Padres dug deep into their pocketbook again Thursday, Feb. 9, reaching agreement with right-hander Yu Darvish on a six-year, $108 million contract extension, according to multiple reports.

The new contract will take effect this season and expire in 2028, after Darvish turns 42.
