The massive offseason turnover for the Miami Dolphins continued on Monday when the team released star wideout Tyreek Hill. The five-time All-Pro was cut, in addition to two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Bradley Chubb, after Miami also appointed both a new head coach and general manager following a 7–10 season.
Hill is still recovering from a torn ACL and dislocated knee that he suffered in Week 4, but is expected to have a lengthy list of suitors. His 11,363 receiving yards are the ninth-most in NFL history through a player’s first 10 seasons, while his 96 touchdowns are the fifth-most among receivers through a decade.
Kansas City Chiefs
Hill’s returning to Kansas City has been rumored for years, and now it’s more of a possibility than ever before. He and Patrick Mahomes made magic together, and the downfield pass in the Chiefs offense has all but evaporated since Hill departed. With Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Tyquan Thornton all free agents—after combining for 101 catches, 1,370 yards, and 9 touchdowns in 2025—that type of production could come from a singular talent like Hill in 2026.San Francisco 49ers
Perhaps no team enters the NFL offseason in need of pass-catching help more than San Fran.George Kittle (torn Achilles) may not return until midseason, Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne are free agents, Brandon Aiyuk won’t play another snap for the Niners, and Ricky Pearsall has struggled staying on the field through his two seasons. The 49ers can’t possibly envision giving Christian McCaffrey another 400-plus touches in 2026, especially since he’ll be on the wrong side of 30.
Houston Texans
C.J. Stroud has regressed since his stellar rookie year, and that regression culminated in one of the worst postseasons in NFL history as he had five interceptions and five fumbles in a pair of playoff contests this season. He was third in yards per pass attempt in 2023 but ranked 16th and 22nd the last two seasons, so a deep threat like Hill would do wonders for Stroud.Buffalo Bills
As team owner Terry Pegula made it clear in his press conference announcing the firing of coach Sean McDermott, Keon Coleman is, clearly, not the answer at wide receiver. Hill, though, could be a legitimate threat out wide, which seems to be the missing piece in Buffalo. The team has relied on Josh Allen perhaps a bit too much since ridding itself of Stefon Diggs, so Hill could be what finally puts them over the top and helps the Bills reach that elusive Super Bowl.Atlanta Falcons
Fun fact about Hill: His personal best in the 200m as a high schooler was 20.14 seconds, which was one-hundredth of a second from matching the all-time national high school record of Roy Martin in 1985.That occurred at Coffee High School in Georgia, so why not return home and play for the Atlanta Falcons? This would be more than a Disneyesque homecoming story as the Falcons could use an upgrade over No. 2 wideout Darnell Mooney, who had a paltry 443 yards and 1 touchdown last year.
Los Angeles Chargers
One could easily connect the dots between Hill and the Chargers, as the latter just hired his former head coach, Mike McDaniel, to serve as offensive coordinator. Hill was a two-time All-Pro and nearly set the single-season record for receiving yards while under McDaniel in Miami, and the Chargers could certainly utilize the wideout.Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are the team on this list, as currently constructed, that needs Hill the least. But “as currently constructed” is the key phrase, as the construct of the Eagles’ offense could change if the team trades away the disgruntled A.J. Brown. Granted, Brown and Hill are two vastly different receivers, but it’s the job of coaches to make great players fit within a system, regardless of their strengths.Speaking of coaches, Hill would have two supporters on the Eagles staff as the team just hired Josh Grizzard and Parks Frazier as pass game coordinator and QB coach, respectively, and both spent time on Miami’s staff during Hill’s tenure with the Dolphins.
