Decimated by injuries last season, the Detroit Lions have stayed mostly healthy for 2025, but that changed on Friday.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced the status of tight end Sam LaPorta’s back injury and surgery, as the 2023 All-Pro and Pro Bowler could likely be out for the rest of the season. That leaves a big hole in the Lions’ offense in the middle of the NFC playoff race.
