Controversial radio host Howard Stern has added his thoughts to the fracas between Tom Brady, the star NFL quarterback, and a Boston radio host.
Stern said on Tuesday, Jan. 30, that he stands with the radio host, Alex Reimer of WEEI.
Last week, during a radio segment, Reimer referred to Brady’s 5-year-old daughter Vivian as an “annoying little pissant.”
Reimer was suspended indefinitely after his comment.
He said Reimer’s comment was “very disappointing.”
“I understand that criticism is part of sports, but I certainly don’t think that you know my children or any other children really deserve to be in that,” Brady said of Reimer’s comment.
Later that day, though, Brady seemed to forgive Reimer.
He specified that he didn’t want Reimer to be fired over the comment. Reimer hasn’t spoken about the situation publicly after the comment.
“I’ve got to stick up for radio guys, because, No. 1, you’re on the air and it’s not like there’s a script,” Stern said. "Tom Brady should know better. If you’re going to put your young child on a TV show, on the Internet, you’re putting her out there for comment.”
Stern acknowledged Brady’s comments indicating forgiveness but urged the star to go further.
“He’s got to take a deep breath and say, ‘You know what, bring the guy back. And you know what I’m going to do, I’m going to take my kid off my Internet show.’”
