Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix said the Broncos’ miraculous and historic comeback against the New York Giants on Oct.19 was “the best thing ever.”

The Broncos were shut out through three quarters, but came alive in the fourth quarter to win 33-32 in Denver. The team set multiple historic marks in that game, as did Nix himself.

He said he was in disbelief that the Broncos were able to make the effort, but once the offense found a rhythm, they found a way to win.

“You win a game like that, it’s like the best thing ever,” he said at his postgame press conference. “[That was] my first time you sort of win a game like that. So, it was awesome. It was a great team win. Every side of the ball made a huge impact in the game at some point, and we just kept making plays and kept hope until the very end.”

The Broncos trailed 19-0 entering the fourth quarter. Nix opened the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion. The Giants followed up with a touchdown of their own to make the game 26-8, but Denver drove down the field quickly, and Nix ran for a touchdown to make it 26-16.

Linebacker Justin Strnad intercepted Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart on the next possession, and Nix threw his second touchdown to make it 26-23. After a defensive stop, Nix ran for a TD to put the Broncos up 30-26.

“We just saved all our good [plays] for the fourth quarter, and they just, they worked,” Nix said of the sudden flurry of offense. “We just kept running them, and we found some momentum, and our defense found some stops. We got a huge turnover and all of a sudden we just got some life back.”

The Giants drove down the field again, and Dart scored on a QB sneak to put the G-men up 32-30. With just over 30 seconds to play, Nix fired a deep shot over the middle that was caught by wide receiver Marvin Mims. After spiking the ball, Nix found WR Courtland Sutton streaking down the boundary for a 20-yard completion that set up Wil Lutz’s game-winning field goal.

Nix said the offense installed the play in practice Saturday.

“The first live rep we got was what you watched,” he said. “Courtland Sutton’s just the man. That’s all I’ve got to say.”

Nix said he and the rest of the offense were reeling after going scoreless through three quarters, but he never lost faith that the offense would flip the switch at some point.

“I was thinking about how I was going to answer questions if we got shut out,” he said.

“At some point, we’re going to go down and score. Now it may [have been] too late. We may not [have scored] enough, but at some point we’re going to do it. We did it, got a good drive there at the end of the third, scored quickly in the fourth, and it’s almost like once we scored and got the two-point conversion, we knew how to play all of a sudden.”

The Broncos made NFL history, scoring the most points in the 4th quarter after being shut out through three quarters. Their 33 4th-quarter points were a franchise record for scoring in a single quarter of play.
Denver also became the first team in 1,602 games to win after trailing by 18 or more points in the final 6 minutes. According to Next Gen Stats, the comeback was the most improbable win of the 2025 season and the 8th-most improbable since the NFL adopted Next Gen Stats in 2016.
Nix also became the first quarterback with 2 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns in a single quarter.

“I don’t even know how we scored 33 points in a quarter,” Nix said. “That’s kind of insane.”
