ST. PAUL, Minn.—While the NHL season can’t end soon enough for the San Jose Sharks, who are languishing in last place in the league’s overall standings, the Minnesota Wild is clinging to faint hopes of qualifying for the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Matt Boldy’s tie-breaking goal 18 seconds into the third period Thursday night helped the Wild beat the Sharks 3–1 and gain two much-needed points at Xcel Energy Center.
