A few teams franchise-tagged key players ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, which allows teams to keep players in-house instead of risking their loss in free agency.

Only three teams used the franchise tag this year, including New York Jets running back Breece Hall, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens, and Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones received the transition tag, a one-year contract that’s fully guaranteed and gives the Colts the right of first refusal if anyone else makes an offer.
