Sony has announced that members who were impacted by Lizard Squad’s attack on PSN will receive a five-day extension and a once-off 10% discount in the PlayStation Store.

In a blog post, Sony said that the extension and the discount is a way to thank its “loyal PlayStation fans” for their patience during the outage. It said “all PlayStation Plus members that had an active membership or free trial on December 25th” will soon get the extension automatically.

Lizard Squad are a group of script kiddies that claimed responsibility for taking down the PlayStation Network and Xbox live during Christmas and only stopped after a bribe from Kim Dotcom. UK police are now investigating the attack on PSN and have arrested one member of the group.
