The son of former Australian swimming star Ian Thorpe’s coach faces 47 new charges over allegations he sexually abused another nine boys in Sydney.
Paul Douglas Frost, son of Doug Frost and also formerly a swim coach, was arrested at his Sylvania home last week and charged with 10 offences including aggravated sexual assault of a child under 16 and aggravated indecent assault of a child under 16.
Police received reports in August that two boys had been assaulted between 1997 and 2001, when they were aged between 11 and 16, at the now-closed Doug Frost Swim School in Padstow.
Now police say the 43-year-old former swimming coach will be charged with 47 additional grooming, aggravated indecent assault and aggravated sexual assault offences.
“Police will allege in court that the man groomed and sexually abused a further nine boys on a number of occasions between 1997 and 2009, when the boys were aged between eight and 16,” NSW Police said in a statement on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Frost is due to return to Sutherland Local Court on Thursday.
