Nine soldiers are being punished for their inability to react properly to possible warning signs exhibited by Major Nidal Hasan who killed 13 people.

ABC News reported that no names were given in the statement issued by the U.S. Army.

“Although no single event directly led to the tragedy at Fort Hood, certain officers clearly failed to meet the high standards expected of their profession,” said the statement.

After the shooting that occurred in November 2009, the Army performed a review to see what problems in their protocol allowed so many soldiers to be killed by the lone gunman.

The severity of the punishments will vary, the report said. No word was given regarding the rank of those who were considered to have performed inadequately before the shooting.

The report regarding Hasan’s mental disposition was titled “The Ticking Time Bomb.” Hasan was said to have become increasingly on edge around his peers before he was promoted and shipped to Fort Hood.

According to CNN, 43 people were injured along with those murdered at the military base. Hasan apparently showed warning signs that should have led to him being dismissed from the military before he was assigned to Fort Hood.
