Soldier Field fans were told by over the public address system to immediately evacuate the stadium as a precautionary measure given the threat of a tornado slamming into Chicago.

UPDATE: The tornado warning for Chicago has been lifted. After an hour and 53 minute delay, the game resumed at Soldier Statdium.

Soldier Field fans were told by over the public address system to immediately evacuate the stadium as a precautionary measure given the threat of a tornado slamming into Chicago. 

“Fans are being asked to relocate to the nearest covered concourse,” tweeted the Chicago Bears official Twitter account. The team also tweeted that it’s a precautionary measure and there was is immediate danger.

Jim Rose of ABC said via Twitter that there are heavy rains and winds at the stadium amid the game. The Ravens were up 10-0 with 4:51 left in the first quarter before play was temporarily suspended.
