Sofia Vergara, the Colombian-born actress who was recently nominated for an Emmy Award for her role in ABC’s Modern Family, is close to becoming the spokesperson for retailer Kmart, according to the New York Post.
If the two sides agree, the 38-year-old actress will appear in Kmart’s ad campaigns and aid in the creation of hair and beauty products, clothing and other items for the chain.
The deal is worth $8 million, according to the newspaper.
Vergara plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, the trophy wife of Ed O’Neill’s character Jay, in the ABC sitcom. In August, the show won six Emmy Awards.
Neither Vergara nor the retail giant have made any comments regarding the potential deal, according to KABC-TV in Los Angeles.
