The Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremony time and date has been set--it will begin on February 7 at 9:14 p.m.

Coverage of the event will start on NBC at 8 p.m. EDT.

Although an official schedule hasn’t been published yet, spectators are in for a treat, reported the Daily Telegraph.

Stars such as viola player Yuri Bashmet and conductor Valery Gergiev are slated to appear, and members of the British Team that helped stage the opening ceremonies at the 2012 London Olympics are also reportedly involved.

There have also been rumors about casting for a children’s choir starting across Russia. The choir could have up to 1,000 singers.

Pianist Denis Matsuev also said he would be involved, but echoed many who said they were sworn to secrecy.

“For sure, I am participating in the Olympics. But how? I will not disclose secrets. Naturally, I will play the piano and root for our athletes.”

Edgard Zapashny, director of the Great Moscow State Circus on Prospekt Vernadskogo, said that he’s “tremendously glad” that Russian circus artists will be involved.

The huge stage will feature 15 buildings, six locomotives, and six bridges.

Plans include a performance on three stages featuring heroes of classic Russian stories.
