A talented 12-year-old dancer wowed the judges on the June 6 episode of “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation” with an energetic routine to Beyonce’s single “Countdown.”
Tahani Anderson’s routine of acrobatic flips and twirls earned a standing ovation from judges Paula Abdul, Nigel Lythgoe and singer Jason Derulo and a coveted ticket to the Academy.
An overly excited Anderson made her way to the judges table to thank them with hugs.
After Abdul hugged Anderson, the dancer vomited on the former Los Angeles Laker girl.
“It’s okay, honey—it’s okay,” Abdul reassured an apologetic Anderson.
Abdul added, “I’ve never had anyone just vomit on me like that.”
When asked about what happened on stage, Anderson chalked it up to happiness.
“Well, I hugged Nigel, then I hugged Paula, and she just squeezed me too tight, and all the happiness came out on her jacket,” she said.
The young girl seems to have taken her regurgitating mishap in stride. On her Instagram page, she posted a screenshot of a Buzzfeed article, titled: “A Little Girl Vomited On Paula Abdul And Handled It Like A True Queen.”
“Wow !!!!!I’m on buzzfeed I can not believe it and I’m going to the ACADEMY !!!!!!!,” she captioned the upload along with numerous emojis.
Dancers across the country who successfully audition for the judges are given a ticket to the Academy. It is there where they’ll compete for a position in the top ten finalists, who are then partnered with a “So You Think You Can Dance” all-star from a previous season. The ultimate prize is for the show title and a whopping $250,000.
“So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation” airs Mondays, 8 p.m. on Fox.
