A small earthquake shook the ground in the city of Los Angeles very early Monday morning with no major damage reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a magnitude 3.5 earthquake that hit just south of Los Angeles at slightly past 2 a.m. this morning. The location of the quake was near California’s popular tourist spot Hermosa Beach.
“We don’t have any damage reported. It was felt. It was between a 3 and 4 magnitude but I haven’t heard of any significant damage at this time,” said July Dutton, from the National Earthquake Reporting Center.
The earthquake’s epicenter was in Santa Monica Bay three miles from Hermosa Beach making it 18 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
The mild earthquake seems to have caused no injuries, deaths, or road closings.
