NEW YORK–Owners of small businesses will now get an assist from a team of New York state agencies, part of the Small Business Outreach Initiative announced by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday.

“This program is all about creating jobs because when small businesses do well, New York does well,” Gov. Cuomo said in a statement. “It is so important for us to get out of the office and go into communities to see how we can help anyone who wants to start, grow, or improve a business and that’s what this program will do.”

Small-business owners in all regions of the states will be able to take advantage of workshops from New York departments of State, Labor, Taxation and Finance, Empire State Development, the State Liquor Authority, and the Workers Compensation Board.

The workshops will help guide business owners with programs and services they can take advantage of, as well as answer questions about regulations and licensing specific to their businesses.
