Small businesses may be able to look forward to a nice surprise with President Barack Obama’s announcement this Friday about an initiative to increase the growth of small enterprises.

President Obama said that it is important to create more jobs, and he encouraged the growth and fruition of small companies as the driving force to supply many of the jobs lost in the recession—to help pull the country out of the recession.

“But ensuring that small businesses can thrive is about more than just economic success,“ he said. ”It’s about a nation where anybody who’s got a good idea and a willingness to work hard can succeed.”

First, however, the government will try to create the right conditions and environment to help these small businesses find the right resources to make them flourish. Steps such as tax cuts and the Recovery Act will allow small enterprises to get loans from banks and credit unions, which was not the case before the financial crisis.

Obama urged the government to pass the bill that would allow for more tax breaks for small firms. Attendees at the press conference in Rose Garden included Prachee J. Devadas, the founder of a small technology services company, and Bobby Pancake with Steve Wheat, who franchised a chain of Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. arestaurants.
