Sir Tom Finney, considered one of the greatest footballers, has passed away at age 91.
Finney played for Preston and England.
“He was a slight figure but incredibly brave. Bill Shankly considered him to be the greatest player to ever play the game,” BBC’s Mike Ingham said.
“That’s all you need to know.”
He played at the 1954 and 1958 World Cup finals with England.
England’s record goalscorer Sir Bobby Charlton last year called Finney’s contribution to football “immeasurable.”
