A gunshot was fired at President Barack Obama’s campaign office in Denver last Friday, media reports said.

Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez told the Denver Post that there were no injuries, but there were several people inside the office when the shot was fired. “It looks like it was one shot that was fired into the structure,” she said.

Obama’s campaign has more than 30 offices across Colorado, a battleground state during the election season, according to Politico.

A reporter with the alternative newspaper Westword posted a photo showing the office’s large windows broken out, apparently caused by the gunshot. Police have a “possible vehicle of interest,” Lopez added, according to the Post.

Neither Democrats nor Republicans wished to speculate whether the attack was politically motivated or a random shooting.

On Sunday, both Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney took a break from campaigning to prepare for Tuesday night’s debate, according to The Associated Press.

Obama senior adviser David Alexrod told “Fox News Sunday” that the president “is going to make some adjustments” in the second debate, adding about the first debate, “Nobody is a harsher critic than the president is of himself, and he viewed the tape.”

Apparently referring to Alexrod’s statements, Ed Gillespie, an adviser for Romney, told AP: “The president can change his style. He can change his tactics. He can’t change his record.”
