Shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee Leads to Seven-Car Wreck

Gunshots struck a car, causing it to swerve and leading to a seven-car accident in Chattanooga. 

The accident in Tennessee took place on Wednesday on Brainerd Road, causing major traffic problems.

“At this time the cause of the wreck appears to be due to the confirmed gunfire. Only one vehicle on scene was hit by bullets,” the Chattanooga Police said in a statement.

The SUV, the vehicle, was riddled with at least 10 bullets in the driver side, reported WRCB.

Police spokesman Kyle Miller told NewsChannel9 that several people were injured and taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police are following up on a number of leads as they investigate what happened, including interviewing people in the surrounding area. One lead took them to a home near the intersection of Tunnel Hill and LaSalle St.
