MINNEAPOLIS—Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company’s performance was a really enjoyable experience for Mr. Paul Sairio. He was among the Saturday evening audience at the historical Orpheum Theatre on Mar. 10.

Sairio, a computer consultant and business analyst, described the performance as “really spectacular, emotional, visually, really appealing, and stunning.”

Shen Yun’s Orchestra uses only originally composed music and has a unique effect with its combination of Western and Eastern instruments.

“The large groups [of dancers] and the way they move together, ... flow back and forth and the costumes are pretty amazing,” Sairio said.

“Classical Chinese dance has a long history of thousands of years, passed down continuously within the imperial palace and ancient Chinese theater and opera,” the Shen Yun website explains. “Soaking up profound wisdom from every era and dynasty, it has become a complete system of dance embodying traditional aesthetic principles with its unique dance movements, rhythms, and inner meaning.”

Sairo says his message to fellow colleagues would be “Definitely come next year!”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture through storytelling by its trademark brilliantly colored costumes, classical Chinese dance, original orchestral music, and award winning vocalists.
