FORT WORTH, Texas—Shen Yun Performing Arts’ sold-out single show in Fort Worth left Fred and Leonor Tucker in awe on Feb. 20 at the Bass Performance Hall with its revival of 5,000 years of Chinese culture.
“It’s beautiful, very interesting. I have not seen anything like it before,” Mr. Tucker said.
The New York-based company performs classical Chinese dance and ethnic and folk dances, coupled with a unique orchestra combining Western and traditional Chinese instruments.
“The orchestration is beautiful. The arrangement of the dancing is great,” Mr. Tucker said.
Shen Yun Orchestra, which recently debuted at the Carnegie Hall, features instruments like the two-stringed erhu and wooden flute dizi are blended into a philharmonic orchestra.
“It’s very oriental of course. Beautiful music and soothing,” Mr. Tucker said.
Mrs. Tucker herself enjoyed the orchestration of the visuals.
“I love the choreography. All the effects, the way they go into the water and come out, just beautiful,” Mrs. Tucker.
Scenes from every corner of China and beyond are projected on screen with Shen Yun’s animated backdrop.
“With state-of-the-art graphics technology, Shen Yun’s digital-backdrop team creates vividly animated settings, extending the stage and transporting the audience to a world where heaven and earth are one,” according to Shen Yun’s website.
