CHICAGO—Shen Yun Performing Arts’ return to Chicago was enthusiastically welcomed with a full house to the Cadillac Palace, Friday, May 10. Author Jeff Garton exuberantly praised the world-renowned show and said, “Outstanding! I love it!”

Mr. Garton has seen Shen Yun before, and made sure to attend this year. “Spectacular! This is maybe the fourth time I have seen it.”

New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has three touring companies that perform simultaneously around the world, presenting an all-new program each year.

“Shen Yun is dedicated to revitalizing ancient Chinese culture that was nearly destroyed. Audiences witness the 5,000 years of divinely-inspired culture and history of China told through story telling of beloved legends and myths with classical Chinese dance, folk and ethnic dance, and original music”, states the Shen Yun website.

He was amazed by the performances, and said, “The dancing was very athletic, very graceful, very beautiful. The colors are just spectacular!”

Further elaborating about the dances he added, “Outstanding, amazingly flexible! Just very passionate. I love it!”

Mr. Garton had high praise for the Shen Yun Orchestra, a unique blend of classical Western and Chinese instruments, and said, “I think the orchestra is just fantastic. They add much to the dimension.”

Through a series of story-based dances, Shen Yun depicts “heavenly realms, ancient legends and modern-day epics,” the Shen Yun website states.

“The colors are out of this world. Heavenly,” describes Mr. Garton.

Mr. Garon was moved by the performance, An Unexpected Encounter, a father and daughter become caught up in the persecution of Falun Dafa in China.
