DAEGU, South Korea—Dr. Hwang Nam-seong, director of International Affairs of Yeungnam College of Science and Technology, praised Shen Yun Performing Arts for its dancing which superbly showed the 5,000 years of Chinese history and demonstrated the power of Art. “I felt the great power in Shen Yun’s performance, which was magnificently artistic,” Dr. Hwang said.

He commented that the scenes of divine beings descending to the human world was breathtaking. “The dancing artists successfully created a majestic atmosphere. Extraordinary!”

“The artists’ facial expressions made me feel that they were very content and cheerful. I was immersed in their emotions and felt really happy as well. I got the feeling that many people who were watching the performance were very joyful as well,” Dr. Hwang said.

Dr. Hwang especially enjoyed the program Phoenix Fairies, which showed phoenix maidens dancing in a faraway paradise. “It was very dedicate and exquisite and won a lot of applause from the audience. Seeing Dancing for the Gods makes me want to get up and dance with the music,” said Dr. Hwang.

Dr. Hwang also commented on the lyrics of the songs performed by the solo vocalists. “It says not to be too attached to fortunes. I feel that it is very true.”

‘Magnificent and brilliant indeed!’

Professor Ri Cheol-Geon from the School of Continuing Education at the Daegu Hanny University watched Shen Yun Performing Arts in Daegu, South Korea, on the evening on April 5. This was Dr. Ri’s second time watching Shen Yun and he firmly believed that it was a performance that demonstrates truth through art. “It conveys something very sacred and mysterious through art and that is why it’s named ‘divine’ and ‘charm.’ It presents works of art that perfectly matches its name.”

“The interpretation of the orthodox Chinese culture is extraordinary and luxurious, especially the programs showing cultures from groups in the south and minorities,” he said.

He agreed that one should stand for truth and justice and not sell one’s conscience. “The story about the persecution of Faun Dafa shows that the practitioners insist on believing the truth without the slightest hesitation. This itself is the great way to the truth.”

When referring to the program The Emperor Journeys to the Moon, Dr. Ri said: “It seems that Shen Yun has moved the paradise in the Moon Palace to Earth. The dancing artists are fairies that descend to the world and present themselves in front of us in the form of art. Magnificent and brilliant indeed!”

“The Tibetans’ Dancing for the Gods and the song mentioning seeing the Palace from Heaven and returning to Heaven after learning the truth, were especially touching for me. I believe that gods exist and ordinary people have no way to see the Palace from Heaven. However, the show told me one thing, the only way to see Heaven is to obtain the truth.”

“The take-home message for me tonight is that the truth is here and that we should learn it as we have wished to return to our world in Heaven. This is the meaning of life,” Dr. Ri concluded.
