Mr. Ali Feizi said he thoroughly enjoyed Shen Yun

VANCOUVER, Canada—The excellence and depth displayed in Shen Yun Performing Arts’ opening show at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Thursday night highly impressed Ali Feizi, pastor of the Gospel Tabernacle church in Vancouver.

“It was so beautiful, so wonderful. I was amazed by the performance, by the Chinese culture,” he said.

“I’ve been hearing about this event but I’ve never made it. It was my first time here and I’m totally blown away. I’m looking forward to coming back next year, actually.”

He enjoyed Shen Yun’s depiction of China’s rich traditional culture through classical Chinese dance, and ancient art form that has evolved over thousands of years.

“It is beautiful. I’m originally from Iran but watching the classical dance from China just brings a little bit of memory of our classical dance. … It was just beautiful. Brought a lot of joy to my heart.”

New York-based Shen Yun has three companies touring simultaneously, each with its own orchestra.

“Beautiful music, outstanding orchestra,” said Mr. Feizi, adding that he also thoroughly enjoyed Shen Yun’s soloists.

“I loved the opera singers and actually loved what they were singing about because the truth that they were singing about—how life is and how we should not be. … One of the songs was talking about not having our eyes on the riches and the wealth of this world but having our eyes set on greater things in life, which was very beautiful.”

Since its inception in 2006, Shen Yun has brought together the talents of world-class dancers, choreographers, singers, and musicians from around the globe in order to fulfill its mission of reviving China’s true, traditional heritage.

“I love it. I’ve always been interested in the Chinese culture,” said Mr. Feizi.

“It is an awesome show for anybody,” he added.
