DENVER—A composer experienced a performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts as if it transported him to another world.

Mr. Bill Francoeur and his wife attended a sold-out performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Temple Buell Theater in Denver on Feb. 24.

“It was just magical,” Mr. Francoeur said.

Shen Yun Performing Arts is the world’s leading classical Chinese dance and music company based in New York, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.

Mr. Francoeur, an award-winning composer, said he especially enjoyed listening to the Shen Yun Orchestra, which displays an unique blend of Western and Chinese instruments.

“That was a treat for me, as a composer,” Mr. Francoeur said.

According to the Shen Yun website, “Ancient Chinese instruments such as the soul-stirring erhu and the delicate pipa lead the melody on top of a full orchestra of Western strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass.”

Mr. Francoeur said he bought tickets to the performance for his wife as a birthday present, who is a former ballet dancer.

Commenting on the dancers’ artistry, Ms. Francoeur said: “Oh, it was amazing, it was beautiful.”

According to the Shen Yun website, “Alongside ballet, classical Chinese dance is one of the most comprehensive dance systems in the world.”
