“Sharknado 2: The Second One”--the sequel to the popular “Sharknado”--started filming last week, with stars of the film making an appearance in New York City.

Ian Ziering--the former “Beverly Hills 90210a” star--and Vivica A. Fox--who was in “Kill Bill”--were seen filming a scene for the movie on top of a Manhattan taxi cab on Wednesday.

Fox, who wasn’t in the original movie, appears to be one of the stars for the sequel.

Mark McGrath, the frontman for the band Sugar Ray, also apparently is going to be in the film.

Deadline.com reported that Kelly Osbourne, Andy Dick, Judah Friedlander, and Judd Hirsch will also be in the Syfy movie.

In 2013, the original “Sharknado” was an unsuspected hit, with many describing it as a “B-movie.”

“‘Sharknado’ was an extraordinary ‘perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe,” Thomas Vitale, the chief of programming for Syfy, told the Daily News last month.

He added: “By reassembling the creative team—and dropping sharks onto New York’s iconic sites—we’re unleashing yet another ‘fin’ wave of shark-mania.”’

The original movie’s premised was based on global warming causing a bizarre weather phenomenon--the Sharknado, or a massive tornado comprised mostly of angry sharks. The film was set in Los Angeles, but it appears the sequel is in New York City.
