Shark Tank has been renewed by ABC ahead of the season 5 finale on May 16.
The show has been getting strong ratings this year in the typically poor Friday night slot. It regularly notched as the number one television series of the night in the coveted 18-49 age bracket.
The series also received an Emmy nomination in 2012 and 2013 for Outstanding Reality Program.
Shark Tank season 6 will premiere sometime in September 2014.
The first three seasons were all over the place in terms of premiere dates and number of episodes but since season 4 the network has solidified the show.

That season, it premiered on September 14 and had 26 episodes.
Season 5 premiered on September 20 and had 29 episodes.
Season 6 will likely premiere on September 12 or September 19 based on those dates.
Shark Tank is slated to stay in the Friday night, 9 p.m. timeslot.
Meanwhile, the season 5 finale has been previewed by the network:

Also, “In a first of its kind follow-up, many of the amazing success stories from ‘Shark Tank’ are highlighted, with the entrepreneurs discussing their experiences and how their businesses have grown since coming to the Tank.”
