Shaquille O'Neal, the former NBA MVP and current NBA analyst, has commented on the recent election.

President-elect Donald Trump won the election “fair and square,” he said, adding that it’s useless to call for recounts. Instead, voters should give the Republican presidential candidate a chance.

“We have a process that’s been going on forever,” the former Los Angeles Laker told The Hill. “And whoever wins, you just hope he does what he says he’s going to do. You know, candidate Trump promised a lot of people a lot of things.”

“Now that he’s president-elect, you just hope that he can make the world a better place. He won fair and square. We have to give him a chance,” O'Neal said. “There’s no need talking about recounts and this and that.”

Throughout the 2016 election, O'Neal didn’t publicly comment much on either candidate, but he made some complimentary statements on Trump in August.
