GILBERT, Ariz.  — Maricopa County Sheriff’s officials say multiple dead bodies have been found inside a home in an unincorporated area of Gilbert, east of Phoenix.

There’s no immediate word Tuesday on how many bodies or their ages or genders.

But sheriff’s spokeswoman Courtney Palma says they are being investigated as suspicious deaths at this time.

Aerial footage from television news helicopters show a sheriff’s Incident Command Center van at the scene along with a county medical examiner’s SUV.

Palma says deputies responded about 9 p.m. Monday to a home near Power and Chandler Heights roads.

Deputies arrived on the scene and reported funding several dead people inside the home.

Palma says homicide detectives are still at the scene investigating the deaths.

“We just saw cop cars, and the sheriff and an ambulance,” neighbor Louise Peaton told AZFamily.

Connie Rivere, a neighbor, told AZCentral that a husband, wife and two children lived at the home. The husband recently moved out of the home.

Rivere added that she was “devastated.”
