Editor’s note: The Epoch Times publishes here direct translations of statements made by Chinese people who renounced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its subordinate organizations. Statements such as these are submitted to a website affiliate of the Chinese version of The Epoch Times, Dajiyuan. The movement to renounce, withdraw from, or quit the CCP, called “Tuidang” in Chinese, began in late 2004, soon after The Epoch Times published the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” an editorial series that explores the nature and history of the CCP. The statements offer a rare and candid glimpse of history in the making. Chinese people are turning their backs on the Communist Party, choosing conscience over convenience, and peacefully ushering in a future China, free of Party rule.

The following is a selection of edited “Tuidang” (quitting the Party) statements made by Chinese nationals on Sept. 6.

I Declare my Withdrawal from the CCP and its Affiliated Organizations

I declare that I withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I feel the CCP is inhumane. It persecuted students during the June 4 Massacre, it persecutes Falun Gong practitioners, and it forcefully demolishes people’s residences. There is shoddily constructed infrastructure everywhere—high-speed trains, highways, viaducts, houses, schools, etc. Officials, ranked high or low are all corrupt—even little village officials rack their brains to gain profits ... It makes me extremely disappointed and sorrowful. Therefore, I solemnly declare: I withdraw from the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers, and I will become a new person.

Declaration of Withdrawal from the CCP

I joined the CCP when I was at university. At that time, my mind was really simple and I regularly received brainwashing-style CCP member education. However, what I have seen and heard in recent years has left me with too much disappointment. I was also shocked by the information released from banned websites and have all along been reading information on The Epoch Times’ quit the CCP website. It is fortunate for us that we have such a platform that helps liberate people’s hearts and free their thoughts! I hereby declare that I quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations!

I hope your righteous cause will continue and I hope to see a real free and democratic China in my lifetime!

Quitting the CCP, CYL, and CYP

My name is Xiao Guo. When I started working, I felt the CCP was a Party I could trust, so I joined it. However, after working for a while, I found what the CCP does is completely opposite from what it promotes. I felt frustrated and had thoughts to quit. Later, through communications and sharings with friends, I gradually came to understand that the CCP is not only bad—it is extremely bad. For the sake of my future, and to help disintegrate the evil CCP sooner, I solemnly declare my withdrawal from the CCP, Youth League and Young Pioneers.

Declaration of Withdrawing from the CYL and CYP

We are not members of the CCP, however, like the majority of our peers, we joined the Youth League and Young Pioneers. When we were in school, we were force-fed illogical theories that depart from reality and humanity. Over the years, the government’s actions have left people more and more disappointed. We have gradually come to see clearly the true nature of the CCP. Here we solemnly declare that we quit all related organizations of the CCP. We hope the day of freedom comes as soon as possible.
