Llamas apparently got loose in Sun City–near Phoenix, Arizona–and were seen wading through traffic.
The pack animals were spotted running along the side of the road as cars passed by. The drama unfolded as local news stations filmed the whole thing from helicopters. It’s unclear where they came from, but the animals were eventually captured.
There were reports the llamas that went loose were alpacas, which are a different animal. Alpacas resemble a small llama in appearance and were bred for their fiber, which is similar to wool. Llamas were bred specifically as a beast of burden.
