The harrowing moment when a young Melbourne father was senselessly attacked by thugs was captured by security cameras.

The horrifying footage reveals how Kane Dulieu, 24, was coward punched from behind by four attackers outside a pub in Melbourne’s east back in 2016.

Dulieu was celebrating his birthday when he was knocked unconscious to the ground by the unprovoked blows, reported the Herald Sun.

The four attackers then continued to throw more punches and kicks at the 24-year-old — with one man even jumping on Dulieu to deliver more blows.

One of Dulieu’s friend who tried to stop the attack was also punched to the ground.

The four assailants from New Zealand — 28-year-old Male Maele, 20-year-old Leti Maele, 20-year-old Apisai Maele, and 26-year-old Andrew Apineru — were sentenced to prison on Feb. 12 and are also facing deportation back to New Zealand on their release over the brutal bashings.

The attacks occurred on Nov. 18, 2016, after the four men mistakenly thought Dulieu and his friends had damaged a parked car that belonged to someone they knew, reported All four attackers pleaded guilty to one charge of recklessly causing serious injury, a conviction which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years jail.

Each of the men was sentenced to less than five years jail.

The brutal attack left Dulieu with bruising to the brain, a fractured jaw, a fractured cheekbone and a split eyebrow, according to the Herald Sun.

But fortunately for Dulieu, he woke up after three days in an induced coma with no lasting injuries.

After his release from the hospital, Dulieu said in a Facebook post that he was “so glad to be alive.” He also thanked friends and family for their support, and praised police, paramedics and hospital staff.

“I am one of the lucky ones,” Dulieu told the newspaper.

“This could have ended so differently and my son would have had to grow up without a dad. That’s what makes me angry,” he added.
